Foaled in 1970, Double Or Nothin is by the great Quarter Horse Sugar Bars and out of Chan's Royal Cricket. Double Or Nothin, who passed away in 1994, sired 119 foals including 14 medallion earning foals, 38 bronze medallions, and three superior achievement certificate recipients. His get have earned more than 1,505 performance points, 560 non-pro points, 64 youth points, 45 registers of merit, seven performance superior event awards and four versatility championships. A versatile contender himself, Double Or Nothin, bred and owned throughout his life by Henning and Suzanne Koch of Stevinson, California, first started on the race track. Raced as a two-year-old, Double Or Nothin finished 1972 -- based on earnings -- ranked fourth in the nation as a colt. He then went on to earn a bronze medallion in competitive trail riding and finish fifth at that year's National Show in the rope race. He returned in 1982 to win National and World championships in steer daubing, and earned his silver medallion and silver achievement certificate in the same event. 1983 brought a reserve National Championship in the rope race. Double Or Nothin earned registers of merit in timed calf roping, heading and heeling, steer daubing, stumps and the rope race. Double Or Nothin topped the leading sire of performance horse list from 1991 to 1994 and again in 1996. Outstanding get include bronze medallion earners Dubs Jewel, Wild Willy Bar, Dubs Charge, Sugar Rose Bar, Sugar Peake, Dubs Kitty, Scene Shifter, Thorny Bar, Silk Or Satin and Birthday Girl. {The above article was originally published in the
