While Victoria Ennis' Texoma Appaloosas are probably best known for the great stallions, Mr. Spotted Bull and I Love Willie, it was the gift of an Appaloosa filly that started it all. Merry Weedo, a 1983 Texas-born filly, sired by Tumbleweed Devil and out of Son's Princess, a daughter of Abdull's Pok-A-Son, was given to Victoria Ennis of Kingston, Oklahoma, as a birthday gift. Although the mare earned several championships throughout her short three-year show career, her impact on the breed became more significant as a broodmare producing seven sons in eight years. Despite racing blood in her pedigree from her great-grandsire, Gold Strike's Equal, Merry Weedo produced modern Western horses. Displaying a unique way of going, Merry Weedo passes on this recognizable trait to her offspring.

Cumulatively, Merry Weedo offspring have more than 36 National and World championship titles in open, non-pro, youth and Appaloosa Pleasure Horse Association events. Her first foal, Kingweeds Houdini, holds a club champion award as well as a versatility award. Merry Weedo earned her production award in 1997, with Kingweeds Houdini, Ostentatious Me and DZ Weedo earning medallions in open events. Although her offspring excel in Western pleasure, they show great talent in trail and showmanship as well. As of August 1999, Merry Weedo offspring have earned more than 451 performance points, 41 halter points, 475 non-pro points, 737 youth points and 13 Registers of Merit.

An outstanding broodmare throughout her too-short life, Merry Weedo died at the age of 13 due to complications with colic.
