Bronze medallion winner and multiple medallion producer The Lady Goer was euthanized January 2, 2000 due to complications of old age. The 23-year-old mare, owned by Tim Tompkins of Medina, New York, was by Goer and out of Nutty Nevada (AQHA). A full sister to the great halter gelding Redford, The Lady Goer was high-selling mare at the 1981 Vintage International Sale, then went on to become 1985 World champion produce of dam and 1986 reserve National champion broodmare. The Lady Goer produced 17 registered foals, including eight halter point earners that earned 418.5 halter points, five non-pro point earners that earned 52 points, six register of merit earners, one superior achievement winner and two bronze medallion winners. Some of her most notable foals include World champion and national high-point stallion The Syndicator; World champion broodmare Miss Auctioneer; and reserve natinal high-point 2-year-old mare Goer's Legacy. {This article, and accompanying photograph appeared in the Appaloosa Journal, May 2000, Vol 54, No. 5, "Field Notes The Lady Goer" and are used here by permission.} Copyright © 2000 Appaloosa Horse Club.
